For over 40 years, PRIVATSACHEN has been developing a distinct, poetic language of clothing — created and hand-dyed in Hamburg and rooted in the philosophy of slowcraft. Each garment is dyed and designed individually, using natural materials and traditional techniques. What emerges is not only a collection, but a living body of work — a continuous study of presence, form, and freedom.
Connyie Rethmann, founder and dress author, sees clothing as a personal and cultural expression. Her creative process is intuitive and immersive — she writes, cooks, and composes dresses. Deeply influenced by poetry, traditional craft, and life experience, she transforms what she hears, sees, and feels into garments with soul.
